    Figs make wonderful jam. Even green figs, kind of perfumed and light and unexpected.

      I wish I had your fig situation. Negotiations with our regional bird mafia about who has first dibs have broken down. I come out to pick the 2 or 3 figs I noticed ripening the day before, and find there is nothing left but the rind.
