*breaths into paper bag*

Okay! Here we go! I have hit PUBLISH on all the major sites! WE ARE DOING THIS THING!

Bryony And Roses! The Beauty & the Beast retelling I’ve been promising you guys for years! The one about the gardener and the roses! May contain clockwork bees because that seems to be a recurring motif of mine! Not quite as dark as Seventh Bride! Probably will not shock you into unwanted personal growth! Available under the pen-name T. Kingfisher!

So many exclamation points!

As always, you can visit

http://tkingfisher.com/

and find links to all the formats, updated as they become available. (At the time of this writing, it is on Smashwords and we are waiting for Kindle. Please note that epub is the only format available from Smashwords! Draft2Digital is handling other conversions for Kobo, Nook and iBooks, and I will update as they occur.)

If you require a PDF in order to read it, you can e-mail me at [email protected] and I will happily sell you one unless you live in the EU, in which case I am afraid VAT comes into play. But fear not! E-mail me anyway, and we will Work Something Out, probably involving a conservation charity in the EU that could use some love.

There’s a tortoiseshell kitten on my desk and I am having the Book Launch Day screaming panic and the backmatter is undoubtedly made of bees but it will all work out, it always does, and hopefully you will enjoy the book!

Arrrghhh! It’s so hard to be patient. I have been keeping an eye on this all day …with my Nook …and my monies in hand…

No, no, I am fine. I am sure that it will be well worth the wait! 🙂

It was available from the Australian Amazon Kindle store this morning (Australian Eastern Standard Time), because I just had to look – and buy. I like Fumblefoot already, and need to make time to read further.

Lovely. Good, solid, imaginative storytelling. A genuinely different angle. Likable characters (except for You Know Who). Not my favorite retelling of a fairytale – that would be either ROSE DAUGHTER or TOAD WORDS – but right up in the top six.

Your style reminds me a lot of the E. Nesbit fairytales; not the novels (like THE FIVE CHILDREN AND IT) but the shorts, such as the tales in THE BOOK OF DRAGONS. Practical people faced with impractical magic.

I like yours rather better than Nesbit, BTW. I think there’s a touch of Saki (H.H. Munro) to you.

I loved it! Read it in one sitting, and I wanted more when it was over – there aren’t enough books like that. Also I’m feeling the need to turn my living room mantlepiece into a garden as best I can – we’ve no outdoor space to do it – my other half probably won’t appreciate it as he’s not a plant person, but I’ve been meaning to do it for ages, and I think Bryony might be the kick up the arse I needed to get on with it.

Also the clockwork bee was lovely.
