Another texture-scribbly experiment of a painting. I haven’t gotten it quite yet, I am forced to admit, but I feel like I’m close to cracking the…whatever I need to crack. This is one of those that’s better in person, though–when it’s built up of scribbly lines, the details lost by going to 72 dpi are kind of texturally important. But that’s always the price you pay with putting art on-line, I suppose.

There’s probably a better way to figure out a technique than beating your head against it from different angles until you finally figure out where it wants to go, but I’ve never figured out what it is. Actually, there probably isn’t a better way, I just wish there was, like having it spring fully formed from the brow of Zeus or something. That’d be cool.
