Technical experiment in coloring with layers of overlapping scribbles. The scan made some bits a little too intense, and I did only minimal retouching–s’quick study more than anything else, to see if I can con a legitimate technique out of it or if I’m just noodling–but overall, I rather liked the result. At least on the original, the scribbliness gives it a kind of warm depth and dimensionality that I did not expect, and at arm’s length, it doesn’t even look all that sloppy, which I did expect. I think I gotta try some more of this style.
