Okay, gang, this is a long shot, but you’ve amazed me before…

I’m looking for a particular artist. He was or is a Native American, and worked in Pacific Northwest motifs–Haida or Tlingit or Kwaikutl or Salish or….something. However, there was a particular oddity to his work. It was the usual bold black and red, but he would portray the animals–usually birds–in a much more realistic fashion. The outlines would be almost realism, and they would be foreshortened and whatnot, while the interior of the bird would have the usual brilliant black and red stylization.

If that makes any sense.

I cannot find this guy for beans, and I’ve been looking. Does anybody know who I’m talking about?
