20,745 words. A bit behind, but at least I got my quota hammered out for the day.

It’s amazing how the little things take on lives of their own–Hemlock kills a raging badger in the basement as a random bit of character development to show how unflappable she is, and now a second badger shows up, knocks on the door, and says “Excuse me, I don’t mean to be a bother, but I believe you’ve killed my brother.” I didn’t see that coming, and I hadn’t expected another character to show up, but there he is.

People go on about plot outlines, but I’ve always discovered that if I know what happens next, I stop caring enough to write it.
