Strolled down to Barnes and Noble to try and pick up a copy of House of Leaves, which people keep recommending over at the gearworld blog. Did not make it that far. The new Pratchett leapt into my arms, and then I saw the new Gaiman also out, and I had a horrible moment of indecision. Had there been a new Mckinley or Tepper, we can safely bet that my brain would have exploded out my ears, much to the dismay of the staff. But Pratchett won. (I also need to get the sequel to “Wicked” but it comes in a distant third.)

Despite being solidly middle-class, I still twinge with guilt when I buy hardcovers. But it’s Pratchett. C’mon. What choice is there?
