I loved the king penguins from the “Polar Court” painting, and wanted to paint another one, and somehow, talking to a buddy of mine, the conversation wandered to penguins and deserts, and they clicked together. I could see this penguin joining the Foreign Legion to get the hell out of the Antarctic, and then falling in love with the Arabian desert, like all those British types way back in the day, just from a little bit farther away. Well, y’know. It just seemed to fit.

Despite James calling me “Bev Doolittle” and laughing hysterically, I hid two lizards in the rocks other than the obvious one, but they’re kinda hard to see what with the shrinking for web.
